Baylor University John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise – Over the past 40 years, the John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise has expanded its reach and impact to become one of the leading entrepreneurship centers in the world. Notable recognitions include being identified as a National Model Entrepreneurship Program by United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and receiving the NASDAQ Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence award by the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers. As the Baugh Center continues to grow, the entrepreneurial mindset of Center faculty and staff will enable the Center to continue to be at the forefront of entrepreneurship education, research and outreach for years to come.
Munir Abdul Lalani Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise – The Munir Abdul Lalani Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise was established by the family of Munir Lalani to support and promote entrepreneurship and free enterprise in North Central Texas. The Lalani Center assists entrepreneurial ventures, encourages creativity and innovation, and develops and provides curriculum for students at Midwestern State University. At the Dillard College of Business Administration, the Lalani Center works with students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the North Texas business community to encourage and support successful student innovation and economic development. The Lalani Center also engages with entrepreneurs throughout the region in support of new product development, business startups, expansions, and other entrepreneurial activities. The Lalani Center impacts the local economy by teaching skill to students and entrepreneurs and by assisting in business plan development and supporting angel and venture capital development through programs such as i.d.e.a.WF, and the Texoma Angel Investor Network.
Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship – The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE) was established with a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Activities and programs available through the CIE are designed to support and strengthen the existing programs and infrastructure in entrepreneurship across the entire PV campus. This enables the Center to serve all students in all disciplines at Prairie View A&M University.
Innovation-Commercialization-Entrepreneurship-Economic Development Center – The ICEED Innovation-Commercialization-Entrepreneurship-Economic Development Center is committed to advancing the innovation and entrepreneurship enterprise by significantly increasing the innovation and commercialization activities by faculty, students and staff researchers. In alignment with the Division of Research & Innovation’s strategic vision to elevate the PVAMU’s Innovation enterprise, the ICEED is dedicated to providing strategic as well as broader services.
Liu Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship – The Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Lilie) is the home of experiential learning and co-curricular activities in entrepreneurship and innovation at Rice University. Our mission is to equip Rice students with both entrepreneurial skills and the entrepreneurial mindset to prepare them to be entrepreneurs and innovators in whatever industry they choose, be it a technology startup, government, civic group, non-profit, small business, or large corporation.
Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers – The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) was established in 1997 for the purpose of becoming the key junction for university-based entrepreneurship centers across the U.S. to collaborate, communicate, and jointly advance excellence in entrepreneurship through the unique role and position of the centers in the academic and business communities. GCEC (formerly known as the National Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers -NCEC), has evolved to include international universities as well. Today, GCEC stands as the premier leadership organization addressing the emerging topics of importance to the nation’s university-based centers for entrepreneurship. It has become the industry vehicle by which the top, established entrepreneurship centers, as well as emerging centers, can work together to share information, develop programs and initiatives, and collaborate and assist each other in advancing, strengthening, and celebrating the contributions and impact of individual centers–as well as the overall role of university-based entrepreneurship center. The consortium is comprised of over 200 member centers, hosts an annual conference, awards program, and is home to the 21st Century Entrepreneurship Research Fellows. The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship in the Jones School of Business at Rice University, Houston, has been chosen to be the administrative office for the global consortium.

Southern Methodist University Cox College of Business Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship – From blockchain to venture investing, the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship provides essential insights and connections in the world of entrepreneurism. In addition, the Institute offers budding entrepreneurs a face-to-face platform to meet potential investors in the bimonthly Southwest Venture Forum. Another signature Caruth event: The annual Dallas 100 Awards, honoring the fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area.
Stephen F. Austin State University Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship – The Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship offers collaboration among a variety of academic disciplines and new avenues for partnership with businesses and industry throughout the state. Services to the community are provided by SFA students under the direction of faculty members and ACE staff. ACE helps SFA students develop the skills to create successful businesses of their own while also assisting East Texans and SFA alumni in building and sustaining their businesses.

The University of Texas at Austin Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute – In the spring of 2019, Kendra Scott and the College of Fine Art collaborated to redesign the existing student lounge located in the Doty Fine Arts Building. The renovated lounge has been renamed the Kendra Scott Center (KSC). It serves as a student hub for counseling, recruiting, mentorship, collaboration, entrepreneurship, independent study, and social gatherings.

Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship – Originally established at the Naveen Jindal School of Management in 2006, the Institute has been providing venture support for students interested in entrepreneurship and training for students focused on pursuing careers at innovative corporations both big and small. Today, the Institute, with the support of the Office of Research and Innovation, is responsible for advancing all University of Texas at Dallas entrepreneurship and research commercialization innovation activities through the creation of new ventures and partnerships.
The University of Texas Permian Basin Center for Energy and Economic Diversification – The Center for Energy and Economic Diversification was the first building of the Midland Expansion of The University of Texas Permian Basin, originally constructed in 1989. Over the years, the CEED has had many different identities, even being the home of the UTPB College of Engineering before their building was constructed nextdoor to the CEED in 2019. In 2021, as part of the Workforce and Innovation for a Stronger Economy (WISE) initiative, substantial renovations were started to the CEED and the Dunagan Library in Odessa to add workforce development and innovation spaces for UTPB and the local community. The renovations were completed in 2024, and now the CEED building has 30,000 square feet of workforce development, research, innovation, and commercialization space including leasable office spaces, a coworking suite, wet lab space, a makerspace, conference/event space, and a full-service cafeé. The primary occupants at the CEED building are the Office of Innovation & Commercialization (OIC), the UTPB Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and two UTPB research labs, the Texas Water and Energy Institute (TWEI) and the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC). The CEED is now the home for innovation at UTPB and in the Permian Basin. Startups, research, industry collaboration, entrepreneurship, the arts – its all here under one roof, and waiting for you to come and innovate.
The University of Texas Permian Basin Jan and Ted Roden Center for Entrepreneurship – The Jan and Ted Roden Center for Entrepreneurship was officially opened in the Fall of 2004 with private funding from Jan and Ted Roden to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of the students at UT Permian Basin. The Center serves as a focal point for all student-related activities in the area of entrepreneurship. Included within the Center are individual cubicles for a creative learning environment, double computer screens, and wireless capabilities, collectively with a well-equipped library for student research in the areas of small business and entrepreneurship. The Jan and Ted Roden Center for Entrepreneurship will serve as a vehicle for encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit in our students and surrounding community. Primarily, the Center will strive to remind our students that self-venturing is a viable option as a career choice.
University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Center for Innovation & Commercialization – The Center for Innovation and Commercialization seeks to promote economic growth in the Rio Grande Valley, a region that has been historically underdeveloped. This will be achieved by pursuing three key tasks: first, by assisting regional entrepreneurs in the ideation, development, and acceleration of new business ventures; second, by developing the next generation of RGV entrepreneurs by providing students with experiential learning opportunities in new venture creation; and lastly, by becoming the nexus of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. In so doing we will drive the creation of local innovative and scalable enterprises.
University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Entrepreneurship & Commercialization Center – The UTRGV Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (ECC) is in the business of assisting entrepreneurs to develop and expand their business through education and collaboration. The ECC serves as a real-life entrepreneurial laboratory for the University and the community where entrepreneurs inside and outside of the University can collaborate to take advantage of opportunities and create value. The ECC has over fifteen years of experience in providing business assistance through the means of its experienced staff, UT System, courses, business incubation, resources and community partners.
The University of Texas at San Antonio Office of Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship – UTSA’s office of Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) is an interdisciplinary innovation center providing all colleges within UTSA and the surrounding community with a collaborative working environment in which to explore idea commercialization. As such, SIE helps to create a pipeline for UTSA faculty, students and the surrounding business community to develop and launch new technology ventures by providing education, experience, mentoring and access to Makerspace resources.
