Office of Technology Transfer – The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) at Rice University assists the faculty, staff, and students in commercializing technology created and developed at Rice. In doing so, the OTT strives to contribute to the public good, further economic development in Houston and Texas, and enhance the reputation of Rice University while maintaining a fiduciary responsibility to the university and its faculty, staff, and student body.

Technology and Commercialization Unit – The Technology and Commercialization Unit aims to support the development and commercialization of intellectual property. We assist investigators that have intellectual property resulting from university-supported research with the patenting and licensing of their novel discoveries/inventions. Our goal is to protect your intellectual property, and to facilitate the transfer of research discoveries into businesses and products.

Office of Research and Innovation – The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) is the University’s office charged with management of SMU’s intellectual property (IP). ORI collaborates with General Counsel at SMU and retains outside counsel to assess, protect, and commercialize intellectual property.

Texas A&M Innovation – Texas A&M Innovation (TI) uses a comprehensive process to manage Intellectual Property (IP) from across The Texas A&M University System; including engaging with the creators of IP, forming IP protection strategies, conducting market research, and implementing commercialization plans. Every year many projects are successfully commercialized, with significant societal and financial impacts.

Office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization – The mission of the Office of Technology Transfer and Commercialization is to cultivate innovation by educating Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi faculty, staff, and students on translating laboratory innovations and scholarly work to the marketplace by fostering further research development and intellectual property management, promoting advancement of industry-academia partnerships, and expanding commercialization opportunities.

Research Compliance for Intellectual Property and Innovation – Research and creative activity are vital functions of a university, and TCU encourages participation by the faculty, staff and students in these scholarly pursuits. Questions regarding intellectual property rights often arise from scholarly activities. TCU wants to insure that inventions, discoveries and creative works are managed in a prudent manner which will result in fair benefit to all concerned. Information is provided here to guide faculty, staff and students with regard to decisions involving intellectual property. In consultation with appropriate University officials (including legal counsel) the Intellectual Property Review Committee (IPRC) and the creator will review and recommend to the Associate Provost for Research whether or not to proceed with legal protection of intellectual property, including but not limited to patent, copyright, trademark, and licensing.

Innovation, Commercialization, and Engagement – The Office of Innovation, Commercialization, and Engagement protects Texas State’s Intellectual Property (IP) and ensure Texas State is in compliance with federal regulations.  The office also markets and licenses university innovations and IP, drafts and negotiates agreements (MTA, CDA, IIA, License, etc.), drafts and negotiates agreements (MTA, CDA, IIA, License, etc.), supports regional, state, and national economic development, Supports regional, state, and national economic development, consults with sponsored research on IP aspects of contracts, and educates the campus community about IP and the tech-transfer process.

Office of Research Commercialization – The mission of the Office of Research Commercialization is to partner with TTUS innovators to facilitate the commercial use of their inventions through the process of identifying high potential research, securing patent rights, and executing license agreements with capable business partners.

Office of Technology Transfer and Innovation – The Office of Technology Transfer and Innovation (OTTI) manages patents, copyrights, and works with faculty and the Intellectual Property Committee to file patents for inventions. The office also acts as the industry’s gateway to innovation at the University of Houston, uniting UH with start-ups, midsize companies, large corporations and non-profit organizations to bring university discoveries to the marketplace. OTTI oversees the IP Committee, Technology GAP Fund and the UH Technology Bridge. The Office of Technology Transfer and Innovation: manages patents and copyrights, works with faculty and the IP Committee to file patents for inventions, fosters research and scholarship through the effective transfer of University-wide technology to industry, and leases office space and lab facilities in the UH Innovation Center & Labs.

UTD Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) – The Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) works with UT Dallas researchers and external partners to bring the fruits of UT Dallas innovation to the public through commercialization.

The Office of Innovation & Commercialization – The Office of Innovation & Commercialization was developed in 2021 to unify all of the innovation and commercialization activities at the university to comprehensively support the campus and community. UTRGV Office of Technology Commercialization – We assist faculty, staff, and students in accelerating the transition of Intellectual Property (IP) from the University to commercialization and enable industrial research partnerships, IP management, proof-of-concept development, new venture incubation, and entrepreneurship training.

Office of Commercialization & Innovation – The University of Texas at San Antonio is committed to investigating, creating, protecting and commercializing research and intellectual property as a means to benefit the University, the research environment, the academic environment, and for the general benefit of the State of Texas and its residents. The Office of Commercialization and Innovation works with UTSA faculty to efficiently and effectively facilitate technology transfer, commercialization, and assist the Office of Sponsored Project Administration with university-industry partnerships. Through OCI, the university provides intellectual property management and licensing, proof-of-concept development, new venture incubation, entrepreneurial training, and policies and procedures that accelerate and ease the transition of intellectual property from the university to industry.

Office of Research, Scholarship, and Sponsored Programs – Inventions result from creating a new and novel technology and their use creates value. UT Tyler assists faculty, students, and entrepreneurs in working together to investigate uses of technology to create new products and opportunities.

UT Tyler promotes commercialization of technology by:

  • Protecting intellectual property.
  • Assisting in the licensing of commercially viable technologies.
  • Communicating commercialization opportunities to investors and industry.

The University of Texas at Tyler assists investigators in ethically and effectively developing and commercializing intellectual property created at UT Tyler, thereby generating income for the university while benefiting researchers, investors, and the community at large.
